Clerks Award – Working from Home
We have supported the general position of industry groups that proposed changes to incorporate working from home clauses in the Clerks Award should be made carefully. We suggest that the FWC explore amendments to pre-existing options with the Award including Individual Flexibility Agreements and Flexible Work Arrangements.
Unless your administrative employees are covered by an enterprise agreement, it is likely that they are covered by the Clerks Award. We are so mindful of the potential ramifications that inserting this right into Awards could have, and advocate that caution should be the default approach in this instance.
APTIA will continue to advocate for industry through the ACCI Workplace Policy Group. The review of the working from home clause has been delayed somewhat. Members will be consulted and updated as this matter progresses.
