Promoting Moving People

The American Public Transport Association (APTA) and the Bus Industry Confederation (BIC) are world partners in sharing initiatives, knowledge, expertise and resources; and the active pursuit and promotion of programs for the development of quality passenger bus services in the United States and in Australia. The two Associations signed a Memorandum of Understanding in May 2013 to formally acknowledge a partnership that had long been active.  This alliance will enable the sharing of research and policy in both regions, public relations and advocacy activities, and participation in both US and Australian bus transit bodies and committees.

Michael Apps Executive Director of the Bus Industry Confederation highlights that moving people, transport and accessibility to our cities, regions, “our knowledge centres” is a critical issue in the lead up to the Federal Election – made evident by the convergence of Gillard and Abbott in Rooty Hill in previous weeks.
