About Ian
With more than two decades experience in Industrial Relations and complex contract negotiations, Ian MacDonald began working within the Bus & Coach
Industry in 1990 as a Solicitor representing Bus Operators and from 1996 with BusNSW as an Industrial Relations and Transport Consultant.
Ian has lead APTIA since 2009 to become a national industrial resource for the Transport industry representing members across all states including Bus
& Coach Associations, major urban transport operators such as Keolis Downer, Greyhound Australia, Murrays and Transit Australia Group.
Ian is an active member of his profession and the industry. This is evident through his participation and involvement in a numerous boards and committees
including acting as Chairman of the Bus & Coach Industry’s Industrial Working Group (IWG), member of the Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry
(ACCI) Workplace Policy Committee and as a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (since 2011). He holds a Bachelor of Law (Sydney University),
Certificate of Transport Management (NSW Institute of Transport Management) and Certificate IV in Human Resources.
